Donald StanleyROSSDon passed in his sleep on 9th July, 2023 at Gloucester House in Sevenoaks. Don was born in London 22nd July 1932 (91 years). He was evacuated for two years to Liskeard, Cornwall during World War II. He started work for Siemens Electric at 14 years old and then became a compositor at a printers at London Bridge before being conscripted into the Royal Air Force for two years. When he returned he continued his work as a compositor until computers took over the job. He followed that with a long career at Otford Paper Sacks, retiring at the age of 65 years. He liked working with his hands and was an avid gardener and had a passion for making models; ships, aircraft, cars and engines. He made his home in Tonbridge since 1965. Don is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Vera (nee Ross) and Arthur Pullin; his nieces Susan Pullin and Jennifer Bott (Jim), four grand nieces and four great grand nephews. Don's family reside in the United States. Cremation will be at Kent & Sussex Crematorium, Francis Chappell & Sons, Sevenoaks, followed by private interment. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hospice of the Weald, Pembury as they have taken care of several close family and friends.
